Disney World Introduction

Carrie: I grew up only four hours south of Orlando and we tended to stop here on our way home from road trips in the summer, so it never seemed as exciting to me as it might have to a kid in Kansas, and I never grew up begging to go to Disney World. But going back this time made me remember all that’s great about it. The packed-ness of stuff to do. The creativity and innovation behind a lot of the rides. The elaborate concepts. Lots of people there just to grant you a good time.

Rusty: I’ve been told I’m a cynical person, but all that goes out the window when I drive into Disney World. All that jazz about "kids of all ages" becomes true, but I also found on this most recent trip that Disney World is a great place for adults (this being my first trip as one—the first time I was ten and the second time I was eighteen, which doesn’t exactly qualify). I want to continue going to Disney World every ten years, because it’s new for me each time… and old, since nostalgia plays a part too. Disney World has nothing to do with the real world, but it’s pretty much how the real world should be.
